2024 Nissan Z NISMO

The initial allocation will only consist of 100 units and Z customers who patiently wait will be given first choice

PDATED 10/08/2023 13:20: Nissan has advised that all 100 examples of the 2024 Nissan Z NISMO originally destined for Australia have now been sold, with the entire allocation gone within an hour of online ordering opening this week.

ORIGINAL ARTICLE PUBLISHED 07/08/2023 11:35: Australian pricing for the 2024 Nissan Z NISMO has been set at $95,000 ahead of first local deliveries in the closing stages of the year, however, supply will be limited to just 100 units in the first allocation.

As expected, the new Nissan Z coupe flagship commands a hefty price premium (+19,200) over the standard Z, which also makes up for a $2,500 price increase, but as reported earlier this month, the extra cash will net buyers some serious upgrades in the form of extra power and torque, a more refined suspension, bigger brakes and many other NISMO specification improvements.

Output for the 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 engine has been increased to 309kW/510Nm (+11kW/45Nm) – less than the 313kW/521Nm figure announced at the model's global reveal last week – thanks to a new (improved) electronic wastegate controller, ignition timing strategy bespoke and more efficient cooling system.

The enhanced engine is paired exclusively with a nine-speed automatic transmission featuring a new 'Sport+' drive mode designed specifically for track use, delivering quicker gear changes and tweaked shift logic that is said to be so good the driver doesn't have to. using the paddle shifters.

The car-specific Nissan Z NISMO also comes with stiffer springs, dampers and sturdier anti-roll bars, plus a reinforced underbody, stickier Dunlop SP SPORT MAXX GT600 tires and lightweight 19-inch Rays alloy wheels.

There are also new suspension and steering rack bushings, and larger front (380mm) and rear (350mm) brake rotors clamped by more aggressive brake pads.

POther enhancements consist of a NISMO-tuned launch control and active sound control system, red interior trim, red graphics for appearance, NISMO-branded Recaro seats, a NISMO steering wheel and of course a unique exterior design that is very different from the standard Z coupe in the name of aerodynamics.

The NISMO largely matches its donor vehicle for standard equipment beyond the upgrades mentioned above, meaning the main kit includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 8.0-inch infotainment interface, smartphone mirroring, adaptive cruise control, rearview camera and parking sensors at both ends. .

A limited-slip rear differential is fitted as standard to all Nissan Zs sold in Australia.

Customers still waiting for the standard Z or limited-run Z Proto are given first choice from an allocation of 100 Z NISMO units – specifically the option to transfer their order to the flagship – before reservations officially open at 11:00 this Thursday (August 10), based on best dressed First.

“The Z NISMO is a true flagship sports car, with Nissan engineers leaving no stone unturned in their pursuit of performance,” said Nissan Australia Managing Director Adam Paterson.

“We want to thank those who have been waiting for their Z by offering them the opportunity to get their hands on a Z NISMO, while still ensuring this special vehicle is available to Z fans across the country

There will be many more very happy Z fans across Australia, and I can't wait to see the Z NISMO joining the Z Coupe and Z Proto on Australian roads.”

With the NISMO set to be badged and sold as an MY24 variant, the new model year also brings a $2,500 price increase for the standard Z, which now starts at $75,800 plus on-road costs regardless of transmission choice.

There are no changes to the standard specification that accompany the Nissan Z's price increase, except for the new 'New Site Orange' exterior paint color.
