2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500
Ford has finally released the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500. This car with the cobra logo will be equipped with a V8 engine with 760 horsepower.
Reporting from Motor1, the 2020 Shelby GT500 uses a new 760 horsepower engine capable of producing 847 Nm of torque. This engine will be mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
Regarding engine performance, Ford said that the 2020 Shelby GT500 is capable of scoring a time of around 11 seconds for a distance of a quarter mile or around 400 meters. However, Ford limits the top speed to 289.6 kilometers per hour for this car. The Ford manufacturer is currently preparing the latest generation of the Shelby GT500 which is planned to be launched in 2020. Before the launch, one Shelby VIN 001 unit was sold by the Ford manufacturer
In the auction, one of the auction participants won the highest bid of USD 1.1 million. This price was considered by Joe Hinrichs, Ford's president, to be a fair value for owning a Ford Shelby as the first production car to come out of the Ford factory.
For cars with this powerful engine, Ford provides a choice of exhaust sounds. Yes, it depends on how the driver wants the sound produced by the GT500. There are four exhaust modes. These range from rather tame settings to very aggressive options for those who want to experience the thrill of street racing.
But don't worry if you set the noise mode. Because, this car has a sound dampening system. So in the cabin the driver will not feel uncomfortable with exhaust noise.
From the aerodynamics side, the Ford Mustang pays a lot of attention to the GT500. The standard front fascia boost elements will be revised to increase the drivetrain cooling capacity by up to 50 percent. Then for the rear, this car uses a large wing made of carbon material. That way, this car has 227 kilograms of downforce at a speed of 180 mph.
The 2020 Ford Shelby GT500 will reportedly go on sale this summer. However, Ford has not discussed the price, only that this car is estimated to be more expensive than the GT350 which is sold for USD 60,235 or the equivalent of IDR 860 million. If it is officially on the road, the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 will compete with the Dodge Challenger Hellcat and Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 which also have brutal engines.
