Bugatti Chiron

The Bugatti Chiron is already a very rare supercar. Production is ongoing, with only 500 units to be built over a number of years.

The Super Sport and Pur Sport versions are even rarer. But, for sultans who want something truly unique, Bugatti's Sur Mesure customization program is ready to make dreams come true.

To promote the program, Bugatti released photos of two Chiron units that got unique exterior-interior touches to make them stand out even more.

We're not just talking about special paint colors with contrasting stitching in the interior.

There is also a special treatment for the exterior, which Bugatti calls "Vague de Lumiere". It took five weeks to complete the paint on each car.

They employ a hand-painted design inspired by light - or how light reflects off a body.

The more vibrant of the two is the Chiron Super Sport, with a light blue base color and orange striping and rims.

That description sounds very simple. Even though the official names of the colors are California Blue and Arancia Mira, the design is very complicated.

Striping covers every body panel, varying in shape and thickness throughout.

At the request of the buyer, the grille is decorated with the number 38 which is also painted Arancia Mira orange. This color will also be seen throughout the interior.
the second hiron - this time the Pur Sport - also has striping, but looks a bit more polished.

The exterior is a mix of blue with Blue Carbon bodywork overlaid with Nocture stripes.

Blue "Bugatti" lettering takes center stage on the wings, while the red-white-blue French flag provides additional livery on the spoiler's end plate.

The number 9 painted in French Racing Blue adorns the grille. And, moving inside, there's more of a French Racing Blue and black theme to the interior trim.
The exterior building process for the two Chirons was labor intensive.

The design is first envisioned in a two-dimensional format, then applied to the three-dimensional surface of the car.

All of the striping was hand painted in multiple layers, adding depth to the overall finish.

After the detailed work was completed, the car was tidied up with several layers of clear coat.

Bugatti applied a similar treatment to the Veyron in 2011, creating a car known as the Grand Sport L'Or Blanc.
